When growing beets, you should maintain some spacings between plants and keep a lookout for snails or slugs which may destroy your crops. The best time to harvest them would be after 90 days depending on the type of seeds that you use.

Divide irises. If you split up clumps of them, you will eventually have more of this flower. If you find any dead irises in your garden, immediately pull up the bulbs. The bulbs should split up normally in the hand, and should flower when replanted for the next year. If you have a rhizome you will need to split it with a knife. You can trim new pieces away from the outside of the bulbs and then simply throw the old center away. Every piece needs to have a minimum of one good offshoot. Replant your pieces right away.
